About
Maunika Gowardhan, Indian chef and author.

Born and raised in Mumbai and based in the UK, Maunika creates and shares traditional Indian recipes with flavours and ingredients that reflect her upbringing and heritage. Her cooking is simple and enticing: earthy spices, fresh herbs and blends synonymous with India, dishes from regional communities across the country, many of them in her own family for generations.
“Authentic but achievable Indian recipes.”
To really know a style of cooking, she believes, you have to immerse yourself in it. She spends much of her time travelling across India exploring spices and recipes, cooking in family homes, and meeting restaurateurs, food traders and friends who share her passion for Indian home cooking.
